A picture is worth a thousand words, they say, so here's the before and after. I remember searching for the new studio desk every now and then for the last 6 years or so. Nothing really extraordinary came up that would improve my workspace except the StudioDesk models, which are like, well they remind me of the analogy from the millennial era, when I switched from PCs to Mac and all of a sudden I didn't have to maintain the computers on weekends (or ever) anymore and the life just got beautiful, inspired, flowing, not obstructed by technology but rather supported and helped by it. So the same goes to StudioDesk Orbit, which inhabits my home studio now and puts a smile on my face every time I see it and just pulls me in the creative mode and sparks inspiration. I congratulate the designer(s) on how well thought out this desk is, everything where I'd expect it, the build is sturdy and everything fell right into place in assembly stage. It weighs a lot which makes it the most stable platform possible and mind you that it sits on just a pair of heavy electric legs. Before I took the decision of having one, I was worried about the hand placement reaching over the piano keyboard for computer controls, since I was used to have the computer keyboard and track pad before and under the piano keyboard, so when I wanted to record something, I needed to stretch my arms to play, which was not too bad, but most of the composers I follow on YT would have it the other way round. What I refer to here cannot be seen from the 'before' picture, but the red improvised woodwork that you see had been installed just for me to check for a couple of days, how my posture would change and react to the new circumstances and ergonomy. And I noticed that this new environment required me to sit more straight which from the energetic point of view makes me more active, on guard, ready to fire the inspiration. I hope this makes some sense, but for me this insight was a game changer. So I trusted my instinct and went for it and I would never go back. This Orbit desk is the immaculate piece of art which inspires the artist in me and consequently the art I create. And best of all, I can always adjust the height of the desk according to my liking, possible fatigue of working too long, or just because I want to work differently. Funnily, on the before picture there is an Orbit desk on my uppermost screen just manifesting itself into my studio. Thank you StudioDesk for the desk of my dreams – my life just got so much better.
